To launch the 1st episode of Talk 2 Da Crowd on JoinDaCrowd Radio, We interviewed a producer and entrepreneur that Motzy has known for over 10 years. Sean Frazier, who's best known as "Ice" or Ice Gawd Beatz. He also goes by DJ Hustle. He has a record label, ICE GAWD Music Group, a radio show/podcast called HAIRY SACKS, a recording studio on the infamous South St. in Philly as well as a clothing line, Big Hustle University. In this interview we talk about the history of his career that all started from a beat sampler that his uncle gave him who was already in the industry.
Music excited him soo much and it affected his life in negative ways and positive ones as well. From seeing talented guys in his hood that got caught up in drugs to all the way to his days at Norfolk State when he first heard EMPD, to also having a chance to work on some music for Paula Abdul through Issac Hayes' nephew, only for the meeting to go left weeks later for reasons out of his control. She liked what he did but he forgot to bring his business cards or exchange info.
We go into detail about the ups and downs while working on his music career, maintaining a regular job and balancing his family life. He plays us some of his latest production, talks more on the new direction he's going in and what he has in store for the future. This was a real in depth interview and I learned things about Ice for the first time. We appreciate him for speaking on real life situations while still being inspired. Some of this stuff is the first time he ever talked about them, so this was an honor. Be sure to follow Ice and let him know what you think. Also check out his two projects out on Spotify right now!
